Mostly sunny and cold but very cold over the Northern Cape and Freestate with widespread frost. It should remain sunny and on the cold side over the western interior with a clear air cold front moving in from the west and south west while it should warm up somewhat better over the eastern interior ahead of the cold front. Rather cold over the western parts of the Northern interior where Ellisras turned at 3 C with light frost in the Limpopo vallei but sunny and reasonable during the day. There are a few cloudy patches over the south-west Cape coast while there is cloudy patches in the Calvinia area with some light drizzle this morning but it will remain cold. The main systems are all to the south of the country with thunderstorms but it does not look as if it will reach the coastal areas. Keep warm, just remember power is expensive, thus use alternative fuels for warming just be careful and do not leave an open fire un attended.
