Apple releases watchOS 5.3 restore Walkie-Talkie service

Apple released watchOS 5.3 , the seventh update of the watchOS 5 operating system that runs on modern Apple Watch models.

watchOS 5.3 can be downloaded via the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General -> Software update . To install the new software, the Apple Watch must have at least 50% battery, it must be placed on a charger and must be within range of the iPhone.

According to the release notes of iOS 12.4, the new update, along with iOS 12.4, fixes a major bug in the Walkie-Talkieapp that could allow you to use the app to spy on people.

The watchOS 5.3 update also brings ECG support and irregular heart rate notifications to Apple Watch Series 4 owners in Canada and Singapore . The launch of the ECG function in Canada comes a few months after Apple confirmed that it was working to bring the ECG feature in Apple Watch to Canada ” as quickly as possible “.

Here are the complete release notes for watchOS 5.3:

  • This update includes new features, improvements and bug fixes and is recommended for all users:
    – Provides important security updates including a fix for the Walkie-Talkie

watchOS 5.3 could be one of the final updates of the watchOS 5 operating system as Apple is focusing on watchOS 6, which is currently in beta testing.
